Pokémon TCG Pocket is about to hit its 1.5-year mark, and this update feels like the kind of shake-up players have been waiting for. On April 27 at 6:00 p.m. PDT, Pulsing Aura arrives with a much heavier focus on Fighting decks, smarter deckbuilding, and a few collector perks that are actually useful for once. If you've been sorting through your Items card Pokemon options and feeling like matches have started to blur together, this expansion looks set to break that pattern fast. It's not only about adding more cards. The whole rhythm of the game is changing a bit, from missions to cosmetics to how people trade and show off their collections.

The headline feature is easy to spot: Mega Evolution cards are finally here. Mega Lucario ex jumps out straight away with 190 HP, which is no joke in Pocket. Its main attack starts at 90 damage with two Energy, then climbs to 140 if you can commit a third. That kind of pressure matters, especially in quicker games where one clean knockout can decide everything. Mega Sceptile ex gives Grass decks another angle, while Vaporeon ex adds disruption by forcing the opponent to switch. That sort of control can be annoying in the best way. Pulsing Aura also pulls in Kubfu, both Urshifu forms, and Bewear, so it's not just a nostalgia set built around one big mechanic.

What makes this set more interesting is that the support cards don't feel like filler. Korrina looks strong right away, especially for Fighting builds that need help punching through bulky ex targets. A 30-damage boost against ex Pokémon might not sound huge on paper, but in real games it changes knock-out math all the time. Arena of Antiquity adds another 20 damage for Fighting attackers, which stacks pressure fast. Then there's Field Blower, and honestly, that one may end up being one of the most important cards in the set. Players have wanted a cleaner answer to enemy stadiums for ages. Now there's finally a direct way to remove them instead of just hoping to race through the problem.

Collectors are getting something worthwhile too. Gold Frames are being added for cards you've pulled 10 times, and the unlock works retroactively. So some players are probably going to log in on day one and find a chunk of their binder upgraded without doing anything. That's a nice touch. It also makes duplicate cards feel less pointless, which has been a complaint for a while. Better still, gold-framed cards can be traded, so there's a social angle to this beyond just making your deck look flashier. With Community Week set for early May, trading could become a much bigger part of the daily routine than it is now.

The mission overhaul may end up mattering more than any single card. Dex Missions are being phased out, and event-based rewards are taking over from April through July. That gives players clearer short-term goals, including a full Fire-type Elite Deck built around Mega Charizard Y ex. There's also a solo battle event tied to Zygarde ex, which should give casual players something solid to chase without needing to grind ranked nonstop. For competitive players, there's fresh deck potential. For collectors, there are better cosmetic rewards and more reasons to trade. And for anyone who likes to stock up through places like RSVSR, whether that means game currency or useful items, this update lands at exactly the right time for jumping back in.
